Finland is one of the world’s best and safest locations for data centers, thanks to its cool climate, fast and reliable data connections, stable economy and low risk of natural disasters and other disruptiopns. This makes North Shore’s flexible and scalable data center services ideal for domestic as well as global companies.
State-of-the-art data centers by the Baltic Sea
North Shore has three state-of-the-art data centers on the coast of the Baltic Sea in Ostrobothnia, Finland. The maritime location has a cool climate year around and presents us with a natural, cost-effective cooling system that offers our customers significant cost savings.
Ostrobothnia also has very fast and reliable data connections, both to the rest of Finland as well as to overseas. At the moment there are also plans to establish a new high-capacity data cable connection, the Arctic Connect, from Europe to Asia via the Arctic Sea. When finished, this project will also benefit the Ostrobothnia region and North Shore’s data centers.
Data center and hosting services for global actors
North Shore’s data centers are monitored 24 hours a day and can guarantee uninterrupted electrical power, thanks to weekly tested backup generators and UPS. We use dry extinguishing systems to prevent fires in our facilities. With the exception of the generator-produced backup power, our data centers run on 100% green electricity.
For our colocation customers we also offer a Remote Hands service, which gives them the possibility to delegate to us some or all of the physical tasks and maintenance of their servers. Thaks to good transport connections our data centers are also easy to visit from abroad (the area is served by two airports).
